They are one of Melbourne’s best loved trees but it can be hard to work out which one is right for you when there are so many varieties. Here we run you through the details of our favourites.

Capital:

Probably the most widely used variety, its a great option for screening or anywhere that width is an issue.

Chanticleer

A lovely tear drop shaped tree that can provide a nice bit of shade.

Manchurian

A slightly smaller leaf than the Capital and Chanticleer, but with a beautiful domed canopy.

Snow Pear:

A delightful and slightly smaller tree that has silver green foliage in the summer and occasionally produces edible fruit.
